  • Biography

Dennis Hauger is a Norwegian IndyCar Series driver who will make his IndyCar Series debut in 2026 after winning the Indy NXT title in 2025.

    Path to the IndyCar Series

Hauger took his first steps in car racing in 2018, beginning with two seasons in Formula 4. In 2018, he competed exclusively in the British Formula 4 Championship, where he finished fourth in the standings with four wins to his name. A year later, he combined the German and Italian Formula 4 championships, scoring eighteen victories in 41 races and claiming the title in Italy.

After Formula 4 came Formula 3, where he won the championship in his second season. The logical next step was Formula 2, but there he was unable to contend for championship honors. Over three seasons in Formula 2, Hauger won five races, but never finished higher than eighth in the championship (2022).

Despite strong performances in other categories, Hauger’s European career came to a standstill after the 2024 season. He then made the move to the United States, where he competed in Indy NXT with Andretti Global. He made an immediate impact, winning not only six races as a rookie, but also the championship.

IndyCar Debut with Dale Coyne Racing

After winning the Indy NXT title, Hauger remained under contract with Andretti Global. The team placed him at Dale Coyne Racing for the 2026 season in order to gain experience in the IndyCar Series. To facilitate this, Andretti Global even entered into a technical partnership with the Dale Coyne Racing team. Hauger is the first Norwegian driver to compete in the IndyCar Series.
