Louis Foster

Louis Foster is a British racing driver who will make his debut in the 2025 IndyCar Series with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.

Road to the IndyCar Series

As the son of British Touring Car Championship driver Nick Foster, Louis Foster grew up immersed in motorsport. It’s no surprise that he began karting at the age of nine. In 2017, Foster made his motorsport debut in the British Ginetta Junior Championship, where he finished second in the championship in his second season.

He then spent a season in the British Formula 4 Championship (finishing third) and another in British Formula 3 (also third) before moving further into Europe with the Euroformula Open Championship. In 2021, he finished as the runner-up in that series. While most of his competitors transitioned to FIA Formula 3 or Formula 2, Foster chose to take his career to America.

In 2022, the Englishman competed in the Indy Pro 2000 Championship and immediately claimed the title. This opened the door to the Indy NXT Championship. After finishing fourth in 2023, Foster dominated in 2024: he won eight of the 14 races that year and secured the championship by a wide margin. These achievements earned him a seat in the IndyCar Series with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing for the 2025 season.
