Nolan Siegel is an American driver who made his debut in the IndyCar Series in 2024. He has also gained significant experience in various sportscar racing categories.

Siegel's path to the IndyCar Series

Siegel made his motorsport debut in 2019 at the age of 14 in US F2000. He competed there for three seasons, securing his first win in his third season. In 2022, Siegel won two of the first four races in Indy Pro 2000, but he was unable to secure any further victories for the rest of the season.

Despite finishing only fourth in his first Indy Pro 2000 season, the American moved up to Indy NXT in 2023. He immediately became more competitive, winning two races and finishing third in the championship.

Siegel combined his seasons in the Road to Indy with various sportscar races, ranging from the Michelin Pilot Challenge to the IMSA SportsCar Championship, where he won two races in 2023, as well as the Asian Le Mans Series, where he claimed one victory in 2023.

Indy NXT season cut short for IndyCar

In 2024, the plan was for Siegel to compete in the full Indy NXT championship, along with a few IndyCar races with Dale Coyne Racing. After making his IndyCar debut in Long Beach, he failed to qualify for the Indy 500. However, Siegel got a last-minute opportunity to race at Road America for Juncos Hollinger Racing.

Not long after, Siegel was given the chance to join McLaren as a replacement for the early-departed David Malukas. He found out that joining a top team mid-season was no easy task; teammates Pato O’Ward and Alexander Rossi were consistently faster. In the end, his best performance came at Gateway, where he finished seventh. He also won in 2024 the LMP2 class of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with United Autosports.

    First Full IndyCar Season

In 2025, Siegel completed his first full season in the IndyCar Series with Arrow McLaren. Despite a much more thorough preparation than the previous year, Siegel showed he was not yet ready for the series. While teammates Pato O’Ward and Christian Lundgaard regularly battled for podiums, Siegel managed only two top-ten finishes. In addition to lacking pace, he made many mistakes and crashed more often than any other driver. Finishing 22nd in the championship was a stark contrast to his teammates, who placed second and fifth.
