The collaboration between Dale Coyne Racing and Andretti Global comes directly through Hauger. The Norwegian driver won the Indy NXT championship last year with Andretti and remains under contract with the Dan Towriss?owned team. For 2026, he joins Dale Coyne Racing to gain full-season IndyCar experience.
Hauger made a splash in 2025 by winning six of fourteen Indy NXT races – an impressive feat for a rookie. Coming from the European junior ladder – up to Formula 2 – he’s expected to excel on road and street circuits, while the ovals will be his biggest learning curve. Still, two runner?up finishes last year prove he’s adaptable.
“I’m not really worried,” Hauger said. “From what we’ve shown in testing, we know we’ve got speed. The work we’re doing with Dale Coyne and Andretti is really good. It’s about doing the prep work, staying focused, and keeping my feet on the ground. I feel confident starting on street courses and hopefully we can kick things off on the right foot – and maybe be the top rookie.”To his delight, Romain Grosjean will return to the IndyCar grid this season. After a disappointing stint with Andretti Autosport and a mixed year at Juncos Hollinger Racing, the Frenchman found himself without a seat last year. He stayed active as a driver coach with Prema but did not race. The departure of VeeKay opened the door for his return to the team where his IndyCar career began – Dale Coyne Racing.
