Who can stop Alex Palou? That’s once again the big question heading into 2026. The Spaniard has captured four IndyCar championships in the past five years, including a near perfect season in 2025 with eight race wins and a commanding 196 point margin. With cars and regulations largely unchanged, Palou remains the clear favorite to take the crown.
While Palou now owns four titles, teammate Scott Dixon holds six. The 45 year old veteran rarely outpaced his younger teammate last year, yet his strength in consistent scoring keeps him a threat at all times. If Palou slips up, Dixon will be ready to strike and go for number seven.
“Last year was a bit of a downer for us,” Dixon admitted. “Lots of little mistakes, lots of things out of our control. We took a deep dive this off season — found positives, saw things I could’ve done better. It’s all about execution and paying attention to the details. This year should be a big one for all three of us.”
“We kept building throughout last year,” Simpson said. “Hopefully we can keep that momentum going. Getting my first win is next on the list, and I’m aiming high — top 5 in the championship. Consistency is key, being strong every weekend. I think we’ll be able to fight for wins and podiums. The team’s got the speed; now it’s on me to deliver.”
