    Ana Beatriz, as she is known to North Americans, began her career at the age of nine, in 1994, racing karts where she continued until 2003, when she made her debut in Fórmula Renault Brazil, where she won three races in 2005. In 2006, she raced in Fórmula 3 South-Americana.

    2008, saw her make her N. American debut in the Firestone Indy Lights with Sam Schmidt Motorsports, where she finished third in the championship, with 7 podiums & 1 win, making her the first woman to win in Firestone Indy Lights.

    Her second season with the team in 2009, saw her struggling with sponsorship, and sidelined for two races. Despite this she still managed to finish the championship in 8th place with 2 podiums & 1 win.

    2010 finds Bia making her IndyCar debut, in her home country, as the first Brazilian woman to race in a top tier racing series. Though a full season ride has not been secured, Bia is hopeful a deal will come together soon.
