    A.J. Foyt IV, grandson of racing legend A.J. Foyt Jr., made his IRL debut in 2003 after a dominant season in the Indy Pro Series. Foyt IV became the youngest driver to compete in the Indianapolis 500 when he started the race on his nineteenth birthday in 2003. After two seasons with his grandfather’s team, Foyt IV left to pursue a career in NASCAR.

    At the end of 2006 he returned to the IndyCar Series when he stepped in at Andretti Green Racing to replace injured Dario Franchitti and never looked back. He will return for his second season with Vision Racing alongside Ed Carpenter in 2008.
