93 - Thanks to his win, Alex Palou now holds a commanding 93-point lead in the championship over Kyle Kirkwood, who sits second in the standings.
55 - Felix Rosenqvist's second-place finish marked the first championship-points podium for Meyer Shank Racing since Simon Pagenaud’s second-place result in the Grand Prix of Indianapolis in 2022 — 55 races ago. Rosenqvist did finish third at The Thermal Club last year, but that race didn’t count toward the championship.
50 - Alex Palou's win marked his 50th top-five finish in just 90 races! That means he has finished in the top five in 56% of all his races.
23 - With 23 overtakes, Christian Rasmussen passed more cars than anyone else. However, it didn’t do him much good; he finished only 18th.
19 - Among the classified finishers, Christian Lundgaard had the roughest day. After starting fifth, he ended up 24th — a drop of 19 positions.
17 - Kyffin Simpson earned the award for most positions gained; he started 23rd and finished sixth — a gain of 17 spots!
17 - Alex Palou's win was the 17th of his IndyCar career, moving him up to 26th on the all-time IndyCar winners list. He now shares that spot with Jimmie Murphy, Danny Sullivan and Tony Kanaan.
15 - Santino Ferrucci, Rinus VeeKay, Scott McLaughlin, Will Power, Colton Herta, Graham Rahal and Marcus Ericsson all managed to complete 15 laps on a single tank of fuel during the final stint. More than anoyone under green conditions.
12 - After no Penske cars finished at Gateway, things didn’t go much better at Road America — Scott McLaughlin was the highest-placed Penske car in 12th position!
9 - Race control had a busy day; a season-high of nine (!!) penalties were handed out:
9 - No fewer than nine different drivers led at least one lap: Scott Dixon (27 laps), Scott McLaughlin (8), Alex Palou (6), Christian Lundgaard (4), Louis Foster (3), Felix Rosenqvist (2), Kyffin Simpson (2), David Malukas (2) and Kyle Kirkwood (1 lap).
9 - With Alex Palou’s win, Honda has now claimed victory in all nine races this season. The streak is even more impressive considering the Japanese manufacturer also won the 2024 season finale in Nashville with Colton Herta.
8.5 - Even though the Road America race featured only two more cautions than last year, it still ran 8.5 minutes longer — over the same number of laps!
3 - It wasn’t a great day for most drivers who started in the top ten; only three of them (Alex Palou, Kyle Kirkwood and David Malukas) ended up finishing there.
3 - Rinus VeeKay started 22nd, received three penalties and still finished 10th — a remarkable result.
3 - It’s been a disastrous season for Josef Newgarden. For the third time in the last four races, he failed to finish, this time crashing out on his own coming out of the final corner. The Penske driver has now dropped to 17th in the IndyCar championship standings.
2 - For the second year in a row, the IndyCar race at Road America had a rookie on pole position. Last year it was Linus Lundqvist, this year it was Louis Foster.
