After a year of preparation for many teams and an intense week of practice, it’s officially Race Week for the 109th Running of the Indy 500! If last weekend’s qualifying sessions were any indication, we’re in for an absolutely wild race. Can Josef Newgarden become the first driver ever to win three consecutive Indy 500s—starting from the second-to-last position on the grid? Here’s everything you need to know heading into the weekend.

Indianapolis 500 on TV


USA: Carb Day practice will be shown live on Fox Sports 1. On Race Day, the pre-race show begins on FOX at 10 AM (ET) — one hour earlier than in previous years — with the race broadcast starting at 12 PM (ET).
Canada: TSN will not broadcast the Carb Day activities. The race broadcast begins at 12:30 PM (ET) on TSN 4, the TSN app, and TSN.ca.
UK: On Carb Day, only the Pit Stop Challenge will be shown on Sky Sports F1, starting at 7:30 PM. The race broadcast begins right after the Formula 1 coverage, around 5:30 PM — just in time for the start.
Australia: Stan Sport will not broadcast the Carb Day activities. The pre-race show starts at 12 AM AEST, followed by race coverage at 2 AM.
New Zealand: Carb Day activities will be shown on Sky Sport 5. On Race Day, coverage begins at 2 AM NZST with the pre-race show, followed by the race at 4 AM — both airing on Sky Sport Select.
