Will Power Dominates Test at Barber Motorsports Park
Will Power wrapped up a test at Barber Motorsports Park in dominant fashion, setting the fastest time. The Team Penske driver topped both the morning and afternoon sessions. Christian Rasmussen surprisingly recorded the second-fastest time of the day, ahead of Pato O’Ward.
The test was officially a private session, meaning IndyCar did not release an official results sheet. However, the results became known when Will Power shared them via Instagram.
For the drivers, this was the first opportunity of the year to test their car setups on a permanent road course. Although there had already been a test at Sebring earlier in the year, the bumps on that track mean it is often considered more of a preparation for street circuit races.

According to reports on X, the biggest issues of the day were for Felix Rosenqvist. The Meyer Shank Racing driver managed only twenty laps in the afternoon session before going off track and making hard contact with the tire barrier. Fortunately, Rosenqvist was able to climb out of his car under his own power, but he lost valuable track time.
The only teams absent from the test were Andretti Autosport, Chip Ganassi Racing, and Juncos Hollinger Racing.
From May 2-4, the IndyCar field will return to Barber Motorsports Park for the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix. Before then, the schedule includes The Thermal Club IndyCar Grand Prix (March 21-23) and the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach (April 11-13).
