Meyer Shank Racing could potentially make a big leap forward this season, thanks to a new partnership. After a years-long technical collaboration with Andretti Global, the team is now working with Chip Ganassi Racing. This gives the team access to cars that should be good enough to compete for wins!

Felix Rosenqvist

Felix Rosenqvist started his first year at MSR strong, with four top ten finishes and a pole position in Long Beach. However, as the season progressed, the team started to slip, with just one top ten result in the last eleven races. The partnership with Chip Ganassi Racing is expected to give the team a push in the right direction, something Rosenqvist is already feeling.

“It’s an exciting time for the team,” said Rosenqvist. “It’s actually a very different team than when I joined, because last year was kind of a transition year with IndyCar being the only program. There are a lot of smart people in the building and a lot of new faces for me personally. I feel good because my core team has stayed intact. Of course, now we have the partnership with Ganassi, which is exciting.”

“I think we’re all pretty excited to hit the ground running in Sebring for the first test and then in St. Pete. It should go well, I think. So far, what I’ve seen has been very positive. The way the teams are working together and interacting is good. I feel like they’re just as eager as we are to listen to what we have to say about our experiences, and vice versa.”

Marcus Armstrong

In addition to the technical expertise and personnel from Chip Ganassi Racing, Marcus Armstrong has also made the switch. After racing part of the calendar in 2023, the New Zealander raced his first full IndyCar season last year. As the season progressed, he became a regular fixture in the top ten, with four top ten results in the last six races. Armstrong hopes to continue this progress with his new team.

“I’m really looking forward to being able to race a lot again,” concluded Armstrong, who was coached by his new teammate Felix Rosenqvist in Formula 4. “There’s a lot to look forward to. I’m looking forward to every race weekend, especially now that I know what to expect. Last year, I had some question marks about the ovals because I’d never raced on one before. The year before, I was learning an entirely new car, new tires, a new power unit—everything was new.”

“Now it’s season three, and it’s reassuring to know that I at least know what to expect and can go after it full throttle. Honestly, I’m raring to go. I want to be on the track as soon as possible!”
