RuSPORT was founded in 2002 by Carl Russo and Jeremy Dale. American driver A.J. Allmendinger carried the team to the 2003 Atlantics title, winning 7 of 11 races. Together they moved to Champ Car in 2004. British driver Justin Wilson joined the team in 2005, scoring two race victories and finishing third in the final standings. Wilson went on to finish second in the 2006 championship. In late 2006, PKV co-owner Dan Pettit purchased the team. In 2007 he and Dale will call the shots at RuSPORT.
