Met de toevoeging van debutant Bertrand Baguette groeit het IndyCar Series veld komend weekend tot 25 wagens. Opvallend aan de deelnemerslijst voor de Indy Grand Prix of Alabama is dat Todd Malloy als race strategist staat ingeschreven voor Baguette. Malloy werkte vorig jaar nog voor Robert Doornbos bij Newman/Haas/Lanigan. Daarnaast zal Franchitti opnieuw met andere kleurstelling rijden; dit weekend in de blauwe kleuren van Suave.
