Biografie

Dalton Kellett maakte in 2020, na acht jaar te hebben gespendeerd in alle klassen die deel uit maken van de Road To Indy, zijn NTT IndyCar Series debuut. Dit deed de Canadees bij het team van A.J. Foyt Racing waar Kellett, beginnend met de GMR Grand Prix, een deeltijd programma bestaande uit acht wedstrijden afwerkte. Kellett kende een bijzonder moeilijk debuutseizoen maar wist wel in zeven van de acht wedstrijden waaraan hij deelnam de finishvlag te halen.

De podiums die de Canadees in zijn dagen als Road To Indy coureur behaalde lijken echter tot op heden nog behoorlijk ver weg. Kellett wist in zijn lange Road To Indy carrière acht keer een podiumplaats te veroveren waarvan een tweede plaats tijdens de Indy Pro 2000 wedstrijd op Iowa Speedway in 2015 zijn beste resultaat was. In 2018 scoorde Kellett in Indy Lights voor de oval wedstrijd op de Indianapolis Motor Speedway, de Freedom 100, zijn eerste en enige pole position in wat voor de Canadees een zeer lange carrière binnen de opstapklassen richting de NTT IndyCar Series was.

Na een lastig maar leerzaam 2020 mocht Kellett in 2021 voltijd instappen bij het team van A.J. Foyt Racing, een echt indrukwekkend seizoen beleefde de Canadees in zijn eerste voltijd jaar niet maar desondanks wist de voormalig Indy Lights coureur op World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway wél bij uitstek zijn beste resultaat tot op heden te scoren door in de wedstrijd op deze uitdagende 1,25-mijl lange oval als twaalfde aan de finish te komen.

Ook in 2022 zal Dalton Kellett het volledige NTT IndyCar Series seizoen in actie komen namens het team van de legendarische A.J. Foyt.
