Townsend Bell

Townsend Bell’s racing accomplishments started at home in the U.S.A., which has led him to Europe and back to the IndyCar series. Bell’s first major accomplishment was winning the last Indy Lights championship in 2001 after dominating the series in wins, poles and laps led. The following seaon the American took Roberto Moreno’s seat at Patrick Racing. After scoring a best finish of 4th, Bell was dropped in favor of Oriol Servia mid-season.

His efforts shifted to Europe and in 2003 he was team mate to series champion Bjorn Wirdheim in the International Formula 3000 competition. At the end of the season, Bell returned to America where in the next few years he drove for Panther Racing and Vision Racing. In 2008 Bell will debut with Dreyer and Reinbold Racing in the IndyCar Series.
