Vitor Meira, Kansas Speedway Eleven years ago in 1997 a group of individuals with various backgrounds including a television producer, a polotician, a radio veteran, a race mechanic, an automobile dealer and the starting quarterback of the local NFL team united with one dream in mind: starting an IndyCar team. Although the team has been through a myriad of changes since then their goals and dreams have not waned.

Panther Racing has had their share of success in the IndyCar Series winning their first race in 1999 with driver Scott Goodyear, The team also won the 2001 and 2002 championship with Sam Hornish Jr. Currently the team is owned by: John Barnes, George Foreman, Jim Harbaugh, Mike Griffin, Joe Cain, Courtney Jones and Mark Driscoll. The team looks to continue its past successes with driver Vitor Meira for the 2008 season.
