Brazil - ALERT: Qualifying postponed to Sunday!
According to sources at the track, and after a lengthy meeting with the drivers and team owners, it is being reported that officials have decided to postpone this afternoon's qualifying session due to the extremely difficult surface issues with the track. As a result, there the qualifying session originally scheduled for this afternoon will be turned into a one hour practice session, after which they will begin resurfacing the slick frontstretch overnight, beginning at 6:15pm.

IndyCar officials are saying there will be a short practice session at 8-8:15am, with qualifying at 8:30am. (all times local Brazil and subject to change)

This will make it particularly challenging for the teams who might potentially sustain crash damage during qualies to be race ready as scheduled. It also becomes a challenge for the N.Amercian fanbase, particularly on the West Coast, with the added "spring forward" time change.

Open Wheel World will stay on top of this breaking story and bring you updates as they become available.
