Happy New Year and New Season!

Happy New Year Open Wheel World readers! We trust that you all had an enjoyable holiday break and are looking as forward to 2010 as we are!

We chose to kick off our 2010 coverage this week to coincide with the teams and drivers heading back to Indianapolis for their annual physicals and safety meetings to kick off their seasons!

While we are preparing behind the scenes and gearing up for the season ahead, we are also starting off with a little celebration and a look back.

Our sister & founding site, the Dutch arm of OpenWheelWorld.net, is celebrating it’s 5th anniversary as of Jan 10th. The German team turns 4 in September and we on the North American team will mark our 3rd anniversary later in March. It's been an awe inspiring journey for all involved, marked by incredible highs and what looked at times like insurmountable lows, mirroring the very state of the sport we cover. If you had asked any of us in April of 2008 if we thought we would still be here in 2010, our answers would have been skeptical at best. But here we are heading into our 6th, 5th & 4th years respectively!

So interspersed with roll out of the up-to-date current coverage this month will be some articles and editorials looking back over our open wheel journey. Each website will also be running some contests, so keep an eye out for your chance to win!
