"We had some good results early in the season with a podium and a couple of top-5s, but we hit a bad patch in both races at Portland," said Dempsey. "It was a fairly straight forward race from my perspective; I was able to pull out a little bit of a gap on John and just tried to maintain that until the end. The team and I are working very well together right now and the car is a pleasure to drive. Hopefully we can go on to Mosport next weekend, have a similar result and get back into the championship battle."

Unlike last weekend's race at Road America, today's race was fairly calm with only two full-course yellows and no major incidents allowing the racers to have a good, clean race. Most of the action was between Edwards and Ardoin, the two swapping positions many times throughout the race, but it was Edwards who prevailed.
The overall victory was not the only race going on. Chris Cumming scored his fifth victory of the season in the Expert Series, widening his points lead to 22 over JW Roberts. In the Masters Series Chuck Hulse also won his fifth race of the year and now has a commanding 32 point lead over Gerald Kraut.
With his fifth place finish in Trois Rivieres Charles Hall maintains his lead in the overall championship, but Ardoin is only four points behind. Fourth-place finisher is another five points behind Ardoin while Dempsey and Edwards round out the top five. The Star Mazda Series races next weekend at Mosport in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada.
