Alex Lloyd started racing go-karts in England in 1994 and moved up through the ranks to the Formula Renault UK championship in 2001. After many success' in Europe he ventured "across the pond" to try his luck in the North American ladder system. He joined IPS in 2006 after his family sold their home to pay for his career and went on to finish 7th in his 2006 IPS championship debut. The following season Lloyd broke records to become the 2007 Indy Pro Series champion.
In 2008, Lloyd made his jump to IndyCar, debuting in a joint venture with Rahal Letterman/Chip Ganassi for the Indy 500.
2009 saw Lloyd contest 2 races, the Indy 500 with TCGR & Homestead Miami with NHLR.
Though it had been speculated that the determined Brit would be driving for NHLR in 2010, Lloyd finds himself sidelined again for full season ride. He will however contest at least one race this season, with DCR
