Manning begins his second season with AJ Foyt Racing for 2008. He started out in karts in Europe and raced in various British series before moving up to the FIA International F3000 series. He served as a test driver for the BAR Formula One team, but that did not translate into a ride so Manning came over to North America in 2003 to race in CART. Chip Ganassi brought him to the IRL for the 2004 and 2005 seasons, but he was without a ride for 2006. Manning returned in 2007 with AJ Foyt Racing.
