Born to a Spanish Rally champion, and with a degree in mechanical engineering, the racing bug bit Oriol Servia at an early age. Starting in go-karts in 1988 he steadily worked his way up through the ranks of Formula 3, Dayton Indy Lights, where he was the 1999 Champion, and finally to Champ Car.

A knack for being in the right place at the right time, Servia has landed in some of the top rides the the series over the years by subbing for fellow drivers. Always one to make the most of every situation, the young Catalonian rises to the top and gives 100% no matter who he drives for or how long. He finished a career-best second in the championship standings in 2005 while subbing for the injured Bruno Junqueira at NHL, and had an impressive run with FCR in 07, filling in for the injured Paul Tracy. 2008 sees him returning to PKV (now KV Technology), who he ran with in 06, to contest in the newly unified IndyCar Series.
