Justin Wilson was born July 31, 1978. The British driver began his karting career in 1987. Wilson won the 2001 Formula 3000 championship before testing for Minardi and finally moving to Formula One in 2003. Wilson began his Champ Car career in 2004 with Mi-Jack Conquest Racing. In 2005 he joined RuSPORT and scored two of his three Champ Car victories on the way to a third place finish in the championship standings. Wilson continued at RuSPORT in 2006 & 2007, finishing second overall both seasons.

Following he dissolution of RuSPORT at the end of 07, Wilson was picked up by Newman Haas Lanigan to fill the recently vacated seat of former Champion, Sebastien Bourdais, joining team mate Graham Rahal to contest the 2008 IndyCar season.
